Crucial Connectives!

Improving the level of your written answers is an important step to improving your understanding of a particular topic or issue. To help with your written work we have included a list of ‘connectives'. Try to use these to add more detail to your written answers.

For example:

“I think windfarms are good because they produce clean electricity” – simple answer

“Some people think windfarms are good because they produce clean electricity, however other people think they are bad because they spoil the landscape. Despite this I think the benefits of clean renewable energy outweigh their costs”

- well argued, will get more marks (the opinion of the writer does not matter but the ability to explain it will be worth more).
