Tips for improved learning |
Geography in schools has changed beyond all recognition in the last 20 years so much of the subject matter may be unfamiliar to many people (find out more about modern geography here). We have provided links to age appropriate web sites for each topic so your child can gain a deeper understanding of the issues studied. There is also a link to important key words. It would help your child if you could test them on their understanding of these. You could also help by encouraging your child to watch the news and talk about current world events, or even reading the map on a car journey. Each pupil in year 7 receives a free local map so please encourage your child to use it (they come with simple help sheets!).

We hope this site will be used regularly by pupils and parents to help understand the nature and scope of geography. If you are inspired by any of it then maybe you might consider studying it yourself!
