The last eruption ended in March 2005 but the volcano is still active - notice the smoke and steam coming out.

Mount Etna is an active volcano that is located on the Italian Island of Sicily. It last erupted earlier this year and has major consequences for people living nearby. Volcanoes have an enormous impact on people around the world. Explosive eruptions can kill many people for miles around and their effects can be felt worldwide. We study the causes and effects of volcanoes in Year 9, and at AS level.
