The Welsh Tsunami?

In December 2004 a terrible tsunami struck in Indonesia which killed over 200 000 people around the edge of the Indian ocean.

A similar event is supposed to have occured along the Bristol Channel in 1607. This beach (Southerndown, Bridgend) shows us evidence of this terrible event. Research suggests that the rocks were all moved and positioned as you can see by the power of this mighty wave.

Tsunamis are caused by violent undersea earthquakes (click here for animation from the BBC)
